At the moment MillScenes has no photographs of mills in mainland Spain. This section covers windmills and wind engines on the Canary Islands of Fuertevenura and Lanzarote where there are some unusual mills.

Tower mill at Guaiga

Distinctive tower mills with external staircases.

Molinas, a type of mill apparently unique to the Canary Islands Molina at Tiagua open air museum

Windpump at Arricefe salt pans Several local varieties of wind engine used to pump salt water into drying pans for extraction of salt.

There is an excellent article about mills on the Canary Islands in the TIMS Seventh Transactions 1989.

And there is a good web site about the Windmills of Lanzarote which shows some ruined and house converted mills not covered by MillScenes
